This major new feature is an enhanced version of the dynamic tessellation system from our popular Sculptris application. So you could assign different hot keys to these buttons and use those hot keys instead. If for some reason you have assigned different hot keys to one and Shift one, you can find these functions under the Stroke menu and Modifiers and Replay Last and Replay Last Relative. Now of course this uses the hot keys one and Shift one. Then you can keep hitting Shift one to lay out more instances of this stroke. Shift one, so you might notice what happened is it printed this connecting stroke between the end of the previous stroke and the beginning of the new version of that stroke and that might not be what you want, so if that's happening, you want to go to Stroke and either turn off Lazy Mouse or turn the Lazy Snap all the way to zero and it'll keep that from happening. Alright Shift one to repeat that, let's try that again. Actually let me create one more, I'll just create a new variation on this so just carve in, going to increase the intensity here and just carve in this new stroke here. If we turn on Lazy Mouse, what might happen is that the strokes will get connected, so let's try to create one stroke here. One thing I want to keep in mind here is that this function might be effected by one other feature. So I can cover this object in a carved pattern. Now if I move my cursor without rotating anything and then hold down Shift and hit one, what it does is it repeats that same stroke but wherever I put my cursor. Actually let me try that one more time there okay I like that shape. Maybe some sort of sculptural flourish let's say maybe a carved effect I'll carve it in a spiral shape. Now there's another way to use this and that is with the repeat relative, so the way this works is if you create a stroke, let's say we want to put some sort of detail on the wing. There's a couple limitations on this however you can't just make a stroke and then rotate your view a little bit and then hit one because it will actually put that stroke in the exact same part of the screen which might actually be a different position on the model or it could actually try to do that stroke in an open area, which would actually result in a rotation rather than a stroke, so it becomes very unpredictable if you try to move the object in the screen and try to use that again. So this is great if you know you made the stroke in the right shape but you just want it to be stronger. Okay looking good now we've got some nice strong detail there. So to repeat the stroke all you have to do is hit one on the keyboard, let's hit that a couple more times. Now I like the shape but it's a little bit weak, let's make it a little bit stronger. Okay so let's say we want to sculpt some more detail into the ear on this gargoyle so let me just zoom in here I've got my standard sculpting brush and let's just say we want to create some detail right here. ![]() ![]() Instead of undoing and repeating with more pressure, you can just repeat the last stroke or you can even repeat it in a different location, let's see how it's done. Sometimes when you're sculpting, you might make the shape of a stroke just right, but then realize that it needs to have been done stronger.
